When I was still a little boy,
I often thought in bed.
"Yet just a little polywog",
the only wish I had.
And when the sandman came to me,
he brought a dreamin' wish.
A slender pony carried me,
right over hedge and ditch.
Giddy up my pony,
let us gallop 'cross the land.
Giddy up my pony,
I'm so glad that you're my friend.
And then one day when I woke up,
the sun looked through the pane.
I overslept and lift the shade,
Oh boy, then I ran.
A pony grazed in our yard,
I thought it cannot be.
But when I promptly gained advance,
it gladly nuzzled me.
Giddy up my pony,
let us gallop 'cross the land.
Giddy up my pony,
I'm so glad that you're my friend.
My pony carried me along,
so many sunny ways.
But now he's tired and he's old,
for all the sunny days.
But even though his glop is slow,
I love him even more.
And if he looks so sad and low,
I sing him like before.
Giddy up my pony,
let us gallop 'cross the land.
Giddy up my pony,
I'm so glad that you're my friend.
Giddy up my pony,
let us gallop 'cross the land.
Giddy up my pony,
I'm so glad that you're my friend.
